Upload a Markdown file

Your Markdown is turned into one web page in your browser. We store that page, not the .md file. Images from web addresses will not load.

One .md or .markdown file, up to 1 MB.

This becomes part of the link, so anyone you share it with can read it. Letters, numbers and hyphens only. The link will end in page.html.

Keep the page online for

How it works

  1. Choose one Markdown file.
  2. Pick how long the page stays online, then upload it.
  3. Send the view link. Keep the delete link if you want to remove the page early.

What is not allowed

Do not share phishing pages, malware, content you have no right to share, or anything illegal. Pages carry a notice that a user uploaded them, and anyone can report one. Read the acceptable use rules.

What happens to your file

Your file is uploaded to our servers over HTTPS and stored there. Anyone who has the view link can read it. It is deleted when it expires or when someone uses the delete link. We do not scan or review pages before they go online. This is separate from image compression, described in the privacy policy.

What this is

This tool turns one Markdown file into a web page and gives you a link to it. Use it for notes, drafts, release notes or documentation that someone should read without opening the source file.

The conversion happens in your browser, and we store the finished page, not the .md file. Headings, bold text, links, lists, tables and code blocks are kept. Raw HTML written inside the Markdown is shown as text, and images from web addresses do not load.

It suits short-lived sharing. A page lasts at most 7 days, there is no password, and anyone with the link can read it.

Questions and answers

How do I share a Markdown file as a web page?
Choose a .md or .markdown file, pick how long the page should stay online, tick the box to confirm you have the right to share it, and press Upload and get link. You get a view link to send and a delete link to keep.
What does the converter do to my file?
It turns the Markdown into one HTML page with its own small stylesheet and a layout that fits a phone screen. In our test a heading, bold text, a link, a table, a code block and a list all came through.
What happens to HTML or scripts inside the Markdown?
They are not run. In our test a script tag written in the Markdown appeared on the page as text, and the page had no script element.
Why does my image not show?
The page cannot load images from other web addresses. In our test an image linked from another site was blocked.
Do I need an account?
No. You do not sign up or sign in to upload a file or to open a link.
How long does the page stay online?
You choose 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days when you upload. We delete the page when it expires, or sooner if you use the delete link, and we do not keep it after that.
Who can see my page?
Anyone who has the view link can read the page. There is no password, and we do not review pages before they go online. Do not share anything private or confidential this way.
How do I delete the page early?
After the upload you see a delete link once. Save it then, because we cannot show it again or recover it. Open that link to delete the page before it expires.
